Q. Why doesn’t Hello Kitty have a mouth?
- Tya

A. Hello Kitty doesn’t have a mouth because she’s a girl. Don’t you know that girl’s aren’t supposed to talk or eat very much. In the fantasy world of cartoon, we can make that easy for girl characters by leaving off the mouth. The big trick though is- Hello Kitty is smart and she DISGUISED her mouth by wearing it on her head like a bow and all the cartoonists who draw her don’t even know how radical she is and when they think they leave off her mouth & then go draw her bow- they’re just drawing her mouth in a covert manner- she is hijacking their creativity, using their own designs against them. She is being more creative than her creators by escaping her limitation through her desire alone, mind over matter. What we believe is reality. Hello Kitty is an activist because she truly knows what it means to be marginalized and silenced and starved! Why do you think her main products are all stationary stuff like pens and paper? She wants you to spread your own revolutionary words! By recognizing Hello Kitty’s mouth situation you can really come to appreciate your own.
